I knew you would see things clearly.Did a lot of pondering yesterday on the truck. As the hours ticked I became comfortable with only two possibilities: Tak and Zim both had NK moves and somehow Zim's was overruled/nullified, or Tak is either supported by or playing against a third anti-town faction.
Reasoning (featuring so much show lore):
When Tak lands on Earth, she knows exactly where Zim is and what his mission is. She is not fooled by his disguise, nor by the attempts to hide his base. She is shown to be a superior pilot, possessing superior equipment, and with superior training. She was defeated only by an alliance of Zim, Dib, and Gaz, with assistance from GIR's mayhem. She did not have the backing of the Tallest, but given her plan was to hollow out the Earth and fill it with snacks as an offering for them, she likely would have. At the end of the episode Zim regales them with the story of his victory, and they complain that they like snacks.
What can we infer from this? Tak was more powerful than Zim. Does her action outweigh his? Zim needed help from Dib and Gaz, aka townies, to stop her. Could he only have stopped her with a lynch? Or, possibly, was the NK Tak and the Tallest outvoting Zim?
What we need to find out as fast as possible is whether there is a third faction, which, by the numbers, could really only be a single player, and why Zim didn't kill anyone last night.
I'm still digesting this and @Gorny's other posts. Since he was mafia, was he looking for town or for the opposing mafia faction? Did Tak just get lucky, or did he say too much and give himself away somehow?
@Noodle, @d2lover, @Pyrotechnician What are your thoughts on this?
Questions to people that know the show.
Would it fit the theme of the show to have a anti-town faction with more than one member (mafia) and a lone faction with a powerful character?
The game would then start out with 3 baddies in total and 7 townies, does that seem right?
Yeah okay, I must not have payed attention.
Just read up on her. I think I need to watch an episode, because I'm not sure if Zim would be mafia or not?
Omg I'm dumb. Looked at Gorny's role reveal. Carry on..
If mafia (Zim's team....) have no NK, then how would they win? Do you mean that they only have daykill?
There are a lot of possibilities. It could be that Zim and Tak had similar powers: a NK that only works on the other player, and Tak got lucky whereas @Gorny didn't. The death of one or the other could be the trigger to open their respective wincons (defeat town). I think this is something that fits the theme and would amuse Leo to watch. What I wonder now is whether Gir's wincon has changed.
Gir, what color are your eyes?
I think I've seen this multiple times, is there a reason to believe that Gir's wincon is something that would change or is not determinable?does anyone think girs wincon changed? Could he be with tak now?
D2DC, I was thinking along the same lines as you.
I'm currently suspecting Snickersnack more than anyone, but even that's a low read, like three out of ten.
Interesting.I'm Gaz, town.
And who are you?Interesting.
Going to find Pancakes list of probably characters..
Dib and Gaz are brothers, right? And would be the "most town"? Assuming that they must be characters included in the game, it would be quite a bold role to fake claim.. So, either d2lover claim is legit, or there is certainly someone out there to counter-claim.So I thought about it for a while on the truck today and came up with a list of characters that might be notable enough to be in the game. This doesn't really mean much, since butters could pick just about anyone she wants, but if we're going with the bigguns:
The Tallest
Zim
Dib
Gaz
Professor Membrane
GIR
Ms Bitters
Parents
Unless I'm overlooking someone, those are the main recurring, named characters.
Off the top of my head, some other named characters that play a role in at least one or two episodes:
Tak
Keef
Chickenfoot
Bloaty
HUNTER-DESTROYER
And, most importantly, Invader Skoodge.
I may have missed a couple, but that's what I got until I have time to peruse the wiki more. Thirteen names. With there being so few of us, and given that butters seems to want this to be pretty connected to the material, I think it's very likely that most of these names, at least the main ones, are in use. Regarding the theory of The Tallest being a faction, I think butters has answered this. Check out her avatar.
Btw @Pyrotechnician what Character and faction are you?
I'm Gaz, town.
I missed that he was Zim, but not that he revealed mafia.Since I missed part of the beginning of this day phase. I'm going to address other items of interest, or questions pointed towards me:
See my thoughts a few posts before this on his posts and votes and how they are (or were) connected.
I don't see anything of particular that would make Gorny a prime target, I'm going with lucky shot or some crazy combination of night actions.
If there is a mafia team and a lone faction I would take bets on 2 mafia, 1 lone, 7 town. That seems mostly balanced. Another mafia I think would make it unbalanced unless there were crazy town power roles.
Also, not show how you could read that Gorny's reveal was Zim, but not read the part that said mafia....
So maybe double votes on odd days and no votes on even days?Ok, so my suspicion is that @D2DC can vote on one day 2 times and forfeits it the other day.
Which would explain this:
Day 1 Vote Tally:
Skjolde (D2DC)
d2lover (Pyro, Gorny)
Pyro (d2lover, coju D2DC, Pancakes)
I somehow fail to see the advantage of such, so it might be only a vote restriction for today, and a typo in the final vote count. So maybe double votes on odd days and no votes on even days?
