The Noodle Compound V. 2.0

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

I have to go to the residence internet office today after my last class to see what's up. I have two online assignments to hand in, online lecture review slides and online final exam seating arrangements to look at.
Oh, and online exam schedule as well. A bit difficult to do with the lack of online-ness of my room.

So freaking stupid, I was just watching a movie and friggen internet just stopped working all of sudden. I called some guy who said he'll make a post in the residence internet forum so they can reset my port because "sometimes they just give out like that. You'll get your access back tomorrow at noon, at the latest."
So it's now almost 3 days later and I still haven't seen any internet. Yesterday we were fiddling around with a bunch of things we thought were wrong with my connection. Turns out it's probably something to do with the ethernet outlet in my wall, cause a different ethernet cable won't work, and my cable works fine with someone else's port, so luckily it's not something wrong with my computer.
They told me that it's not a ban for using up insane amounts of bandwidth on the university server, but at this point I don't care anymore. I have tons of **** to do online and it's totally bogus if they don't allow me to connect, or tell me to pay that reconnection fee.

Grrr.... :grrrr:

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

Of course the dentist didn't smack me, it was the result of surgery. :rolleyes:Mage is 43, and hunter at 46. I've never been into WSG. :azn:

WSG is a capture the flag style PvP Battleground. The first one to capture the other side's flag three times wins.

WSG ihas a reputation of being hated by many, as it usually turns into a mass of killing in the center area of the battlefield. As far as Mages go, they are not the best suited to caputring the flag and running it back, as they are not so good at taking damage and most abilities they have for defensive measures aside from Blink and Mana Shield will cause the flag to be dropped. Mages are great at killing and causing problems for the other side by sheeping the healer, counterspelling the healer, hitting the Horde flag runner's escort with a well time Frost Nova, etc.

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

HAHAHAHA YES!!
My internet is back up!!! After almost 3 days without it, I can finally start downloading my missed anime episodes.

i hate those guys.
You should see it now, it's started turning yellow around the edges, which looks like it's larger than the purple/blue area has been for the last week and a half, so it's slightly more noticeable now.

Aren't all of them about the flags though? I've only done some ABs and a few AVs, and both of them involved taking flags at various locations. I was told not to try WSG or EoTS just yet, or I "might never want to do another BG again."

I wouldn't take the mage anyway, not very good playing her, and I prefer the hunter class mostly over the others; rogue isn't bad either. That is unless we are talking PvP against them, then I hate both them and other hunters.

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

I can't wait until my last exam is over, I'm not even gonna turn my torrent client off that day. I'm gonna rob this place of its precious bandwidth. And with the new anime season now, it won't be too hard.

Code Geass 2! Woot!

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

One of my suitemates got his intarwebz banned because the university caught him downloading copyrighted stuff.

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

Doesn't it make you feel all special inside? :starry:

Anyways, aforementioned suitemate has to go to the main library in order to have internet, which has set him upon a slow but sure journey towards emoness.

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

I miss the PAL forum, where I could've posted that in the Rant Thread and people would actually at least pretend to care...

At least I didn't have to go to the library or use the crappy Macs downstairs in the common area, Macs running XP. WHURR MA RITE KLIK?!
Oh and Tri, I MIGHT have some chem for you soon, but I can probably figure it out for myself when I get at it tomorrow.

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

Oh sorries, I been busy at work.

Have a cookie and it will be all better.

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

'Kay, I'll be on MSN tonight after my OChem class. Just holla if you need help.

Edit-I have classes for the next 3 hours. Later.

I saw them, just didn't have anything to say in response.. Did you want to me pull something out my *** and try to make it sound good instead?

If I have problems with my internet, I try to figure what's wrong with it myself. Calling the ISP is worse then trying to bathe a toddler - it nearly seems like too much trouble to bother with it.

There, is that better?
No, each one is different.
Hmm, that's interesting. Everytime I went to AB or AV, it always involved flags. Or rather, not letting the Horde take ours, and try to take as many of theirs as possible. I think there was one AV I went in that involved killing a certain character, but all the others since then was only taking flags and trying to keep them from being taken back.

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

I think you were in WSG, because AB does not involve flags, it's about controlling resource stations. And those are Smith, Mine, Stables, etc,. Alterac Valley is so big you would need a mount to run it, and it's big enough that you might not even see any combat depending on where you went.

Did you talk to the same Battle Master every time to get in or enter from the same instance looking portal?

Nope, definately AV and AB on seperate occasions. First two were AB, then went to AV with a couple guys from the guild I was in. Have done a couple more AVs since then, easiest way to get honor from what I've noticed of the two, and have done a couple other ABs as well. Haven't gone into WSG or EoTS yet.

They involved Stables, Mine, Blacksmith, and Lumber Mill I think. Aside from the one I went to kill the general or whoever, it's mostly trying to keep the horde from taking the flags at those other places.

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

I think I know what you mean..

Your'e talking about the flags that show what faction currently controls the BS, Mill Stable or what not. They can't be captured in the same sense that they are in a WSG match, meaning that you can't take one and run with it to another area controlled by your faction. The flags are white when no faction controls that base and either Blue or Red depending on Alliance or Horde control. When one side or another manages to take control of BS for example, the flag will change color with white inbetween. They work the same way as the command posts do in Star Wars BattleFront Games, in the effect of giving your faction more spawn points, etc, etc. Those flags don't get stolen, just turned after the defenders are killed off.

The part about killing The General was AB .. I tanked him with two other warriors and we each had a Priest+Druid keeping us alive.

Yes.

I tried all day on Sunday to get that crap to work after calling that guy up on Friday and not having it work the entire Saturday.
In the end I went to the actual place and even then they told me to come back an hour later before they could help me with my problem, which took about a minute to a minute and a half to fix.

Oh sorries, I been busy at work.

Have a cookie and it will be all better.
What kinda cookie?

We'll see if I'll work on it tonight or not. Last day of lectures was today and I expect tons of partying on our floor. Plus, I'm going to the Smash Bros tournament being held by the Gamers club here.
