[Game Thread] HBO Rome Mafia Game

Remind me again which way I put my thumb in the Colosseum to see someone executed? I have nothing particular for or against him, but he needs to be active for us to get a read…

(Insert joke about someone sitting on their own thumb)
I would recommend watching Gladiator starring Russell Crowe. Old movie but it was pretty good.

It had to be done in a slow and methodical way for drama purposes. Roaring crowds and epic music to set the mood.
- thumbs up is mercy
- thumbs down is execute
- flat hand shaking is emergency, possible 'ring of fire' imminent

And who to choose between me and BH? Ultimately it is up to you.
BH can choose and go his own route and vote for himself. But as of now, he has voted for me. I hope that he still believes in me and that people that believe in BH then in return believes in me.
BH, I'm counting on you🔥

Sometimes people have to open the roads for others...In fact I'm not the only one that can change things, anyone that voted for you can switch things.

But I told I wanted to see.

🏛️ You look fine exactly as you are.
You are indeed a man of honor!

* I haven't heard from d2lover yet. He was the only one that I never got a Role PM confirmation from. I may have to see about an alternate.. :(

edit: I'll do a quote count later this evening. Looks like some of you are trying to qualify for the Olympics.. in the quotathalon!

I know a lot of the longer quotes (and who they belong to). But, if you can, please PM me with a list of your character quotes you want to make sure you get credit for. Just a simple: "post #123, post #456, post #789" would be a BIG help!

At the Curia Julia:
Curial Magistrate: (taps cane on the marble floor) The Senate will hear Metellus Scipio.

Senators: Speak! Speak!

Scipio: Conscript fathers, I propose a formal motion.

Unless Gaius Julius Caesar immediately lays down his command, disbands his legions and returns to Rome for trial, this sacred assembly will declare him a public enemy of the Senate and people of Rome!

After which time it will be the duty and the obligation of every Roman to do him harm, or to kill him if they are able!

Curial Magistrate: A motion is proposed.

Those in favor, make it known.

(all the conservative and moderate Senators stand)

...

(hollering, arguing and minor melee ensues)

Curial Magistrate: The motion is carried by clear numbers. Entered in the annals.

Julius Caesar has been declared a PUBLIC ENEMY of the people and Senate of ROME!!

D2 has begun:
It is quite a scene as day breaks in Rome. Julius Caesar's quick march towards Rome is quite irregular, irreligious even. Pompey and his allies are forced to abandon the city. Half of the Senate has fled south along with him.

Caesar has taken control of the city without so much as a swordfight. However, war is on the horizon. Pompey is hastily summoning his legions in southern Italy, preparing to re-take Rome...

<countdown till N2>

Everyone is free to post.

There's an IRL brand of bread called Roman Meal.

So is Skjolde Scipio or Caesar? I guess I need to reread yesterday. I for one welcome our new red faced overlords! 0C4FB44E-63EE-4ACC-8CAB-7F53BD5CF143.gif
