Covid-19 Prepping thread

see Trump on T.V. saying there's promising reports coming out about hydroxychloroquine (which there were).
The "promising" reports were based on a single very shaky "study" that used manipulated numbers. Many research scientists said as much but it was difficult to get that across to media. They were drowned out by Trump's bullhorn.

No it was not. Have you ever read a medical or research paper or do you just pull statements like that out of your ass because it helps you justify your insane world view?
Have you?

Medical reports were coming out saying treatment with the drug was showing promising results. Lab tests do show the drug does indeed have an effect on blocking the virus from infecting cells. Trump comes out and says there's reason to be hopeful and we should be looking into this. Democrats and mass media immediately denounce Trump's statement and in some cases threaten doctors who prescribe or even speak out in favor of the drug. Some studies come out that say it does appear to lower the death rate. Other studies come out saying no measurable effect. More studies come out pointing out flaws in the previous studies that render those conclusions uncertain, which lead to at least one of those previous studies saying no being retracted. Many patients on the drug still continued showing positive results. Questions begin to arise regarding the political and financial motivations of some of those speaking out against the drug. Another study comes out that says yes it does work under certain conditions. Democrats, the WHO and media continue making blanket proclamations that the drug is universally bad with regards to Covid.

That is the flow of public information on the drug. Note the timing of their denunciation of the drug. Not when a study shows up that says no, but when Trump says we should look into these positive reports. They couldn't stand the idea of Trump giving people any kind of hope.

Everything you just wrote is incorrect and dangerous.

Keeping in mind Trump believes that solar eclipses are best viewed by staring straight into the sun with the naked eye and that the sound of windmills causes cancer, I'm going to go out on a limb and say his grasp of science is roughly on par with a rock. Not one of the smarter rocks, either.

They actually are. In fact it's one of the only times you can stare straight into the sun without going blind and it's an absolutely incredible sight to behold.

You best be able to time it down to the half second or you'll be walking with a white cane and a service dog the rest of your life.

There are a very few brief moments when the eclipse is in its totality that it's less dangerous; that's not when he did it as evidenced by the brightness of the sunlight he was standing in. Maybe he thinks the sound of protective eye wear causes cancer too.

God Emperor can do no wrong.

Get well soon and may all your drops be Ist+. [/crowbar swings]

I have to wait another 2-4 weeks for my vaccination. I can't believe that around this time last year we were talking about sticking black lights up our asses and gargling bleach.

You forgot UV injections in your eyeballs.

He wasn't staring either. What he did was glance a couple of times before putting on the protective eye-wear. Something I'm sure a whole heck of a lot of people who know better did on that day. Something which lots of people do accidentally all the time whether there's an eclipse or not. Yourself included I'm sure, assuming you're not one of those people who spend their entire lives in the basement. The press took those two frames from the video and ran with it. "OMG!!! HE STARED INTO THE SUN!!! WHAT AN IDIOT!!!!"

That's how propaganda works. You take a single photograph that encompasses all of a second at most and pretend it's the entire existence of the subject in question. It's the reason every photo people saw of Bush was of him in the middle of an "o". It's the reason every photo of Obama showed him looking up with his chin out.

Yeah, it's fun to make fun of him for it. That's how memes work too, after all. And frankly since it is Trump we're talking about he may have done it for that very reason. But it wasn't anything more than that.

The staring into the sun doesn't make him an idiot, the things he says and does on a regular basis make him an idiot.

Well yes. Never made any claims the guy was a genius. But if you're gonna criticize him, do if for things he's actually said and done. No need to make crap up like staring into the sun or telling people to drink fish tank cleaner.

True, he does enough idiotic things that there really is no need to lie about it.

The 24 second BBC video shows him looking straight into the sun several times, for more than "two frames."

Now justify his belief that the sound of wind turbines causes cancer.

There is nothing worse than a Trump apologist. They can justify everything up to and including genocide.

Was wondering when you were going to accuse him of genocide again. You've accused him of everything else, so why not? What's next? Conspiring with lizard aliens? Oh no, wait. He actually is a lizard alien!

Your linked video proves that he is in fact a dumb ****.
