So I just had to bury my daughter's Chihuahua puppy. She was just 6 weeks old and we had her for about a week. She came up missing a few hours ago but we didn't think much of it because she would fall asleep and come out when she woke up. We searched everywhere for hours and finally found her underneath the steps of the front porch.
The poor thing was cold and couldn't move, she was barely able to yelp when my wife picked her up and handed her to me. She died in my daughter's lap about twenty minutes later with everyone around her. Apparently she had ran out the door when noone was looking. It was just a split second that the door was open.
We think she fell off the porch and broke her little back, her little stomach was swollen and she bled to death internally. It was so sad to watch her fight for breath and see her little body go limp when she died. Of course I had to bury her, I always hate that part.

She cried herself to sleep, I let her sleep in bed with my wife for tonight. She spent all of her birthday money to buy Sadie, $200.00. Of course I protested because we really can't afford another mouth to feed but one look at her and I melted like wax near a flame. I'll definately miss having her snuggle under my chin at night and taking two hour naps in my lap while I play video games and drink coffee.
