Depends on the motherboard and the videocard but if you follow the manual that should come deliverd with it, its not that hard.
Depends if you are confident enough to try it yourself or not.
Depends on why you don't see colors anymore, if its due to a blow to the head that might be never. (If its the videocard then you should see colors the moment the new one is in, connected and the pc is running, if its the screen then you'll see colors again when you get a new screen and hook it up.

video card is relatively easy. If you PM me your comp specs I might be able to help you select a suitable video card and give you step by step instructions on installation.
