The Noodle Compound V. 2.0

Re: The Noodle Compound

Oh, dude, it's cool. *hugs!!!* Again, I wasn't mad. :) The more I think about it, I'm sorry if it came off as passive aggressive. :( It is a celebration of death but not for bad reasons. :)

I haven't gone to a haunted house in... a very long time, lol! Maybe five years? Six?

But why not just buy candy that's half off?
I don't know... I'm not sad about it :p

Re: The Noodle Compound

Show me the writings! I wish I could show you mine but its mostly in dutch and the few english writings I had crashed together with my old harddrive a couple of years ago.

Though here is one I remember:

"The guy in my brain,
Tells me I'm insane,
I don't really believe him,
I don't really know him,
He's been there for years,
Through the laughs and the tears,
He says he's a slayer,
I say he's a savior,
He's good, he's bad,
He's driving me mad,
The guy in my brain,
Tells me I'm insane."

Re: The Noodle Compound

I have a story to tell!

Crashed and burned ... no survivors. The gym is for exercising only, folks - it pays to remember this.

Re: The Noodle Compound

DAGnabbit stupid *&((*^ posting diets .... tomorrow! I promise I'll start tomorrow! *hides from cakes and pharphis

Re: The Noodle Compound

cool! Hope it went fantastic! Dude you know I tried reading my cards recently and I am so rusty!!! I did a Celtic cross spread and I was so confused, lol! Next time I'll do small and simple until I am semi proficient again.

It was a blast but exhausting as well (a solid week of prep + three nights live + 2 days clean up).

That book I gave you is a good primer for the use of tarot in cartomancy[SUP]*[/SUP] but sadly, that's ALL it's good for. Lots of (new age) fluff, but no history, no theory, etc. Might be a good time to hit up a (good) library for some better study material. If you really want to get down to the bare bones, Tarot's roots lie in Hermetic Qabalah (which itself is a bizarre offshoot of Practical Kabbalah - ie. Judaic mysticism/"white magic"). You can wiki those terms and build a library list from there.

That's some admittedly heavy reading but 1) I think you're up for it; 2) I think you'll find it absolutely fascinating.

Oh, speaking of Tarot, we offered (free) cold readings for guests waiting for their turn in our haunted house. "Cold reading" is a parlor trick often used by so-called "psychics" to separate the gullible from their hard-earned cash. Search for videos by James Randi on Youtube for more info.

[SUP]*[/SUP]For any pedants who may be lurking in the belfry: While Tarot has had a long cartomantic tradition, it was merely adapted (one might even say usurped) for that purpose.

Re: The Noodle Compound

I've always thought of Randi as the "Real Santa Claus" (just look at him :D). Instead of toys, he brings gifts of truth.

One of my favorite videos, from just a few years ago:

I love that man.

Re: The Noodle Compound

One of my friends had a feng shui "consultant" at her house. Remember the pen and teller on that? That was a great show.

The Noodle Compound

Because they took such awful advantage of people who were really hurting. Sorry. Pretending they were hearing from dead loved ones etc.

Oh, yes. It's an awful thing to be doing and John Edwards, Sylvia Browne et al should be shot imo. Harsh? Whatever
