Essentially its a game of the informed minority against the uninformed majority.
There is in a basic setup, the town, and the mafia. The town don't know who each other are, but the mafia know who their teammates are. The ratio however is usually about 4:1 Townies to Mafiso. So in a game of 20 people, there are probably 4 or 5 mafia.
There are day phases and night phases. During the day, everyone can discuss and vote to lynch someone (lynching them removes the player from the game). There has to be a majority vote for the person to be lynched. During the night no one is allowed to talk except the mafia in a private chat and the mafia can choose to kill someone (killing someone automatically removes the player from the game). The objective for the town is to lynch all the mafia. The objective for mafia is to gain majority vote (I.E. they can no longer be lynched). There are various powers that can be in a game that some players may have (Example: Cop, which can find out if a person is guilty (mafia) or innocent (town), Doctor, which can stop a kill if they protect the right person).

I spend most of my time at work, still trying to find a good rhythm and balance for time.
As for the game, you just basically assume everybody is lying to you until proven otherwise and try to make the best of a messy situation

No, that doesn't explain it at all actually.
It doesn't tell me where you play it. How you play it. Who decides who. Etc. But I bet it requires one of those chat programs that don't work properly.

It happens right here! There should be a thread right below this one, one is a sign up for the next game. After the sign up is over a game thread will be posted and that is where all of the play happens. Who decides who is up to the moderator, which this time around is Drixx, it rotates between the people that want to moderate. No chat programs, just this forum, and an off site one normally used called quick topic.

Aye, I seen the topic, but couldn't make sense of it. I better not join, I am the one always not understanding games and having to ask for help, and people don't want to help so they usually just bully me out of it. Happened with the one time I tried online gaming too. You get tired very quickly of comments like "I can't believe anyone is that thick" etc.

You should join! Its a ton of fun. I wouldn't say its really an easy game as you have to find out who is lying and who is not, so it takes practice, but we welcome new people, and after a couple games you'll get the hang of it.

Oh, history Channel. Trying to make assumptions about an alien invasion when there's no proof behind it. Although... If it ever happens, I will remember. Some of it.
I go to work in an hour. Don't want to. But it'll help with the school funds. I only need a little bit more!!! :alright: I counted the amount today and started to cry tears of joy. almost there, almost there!! Now I need to figure out everything else: Job, place to live. Leo's going big on this one and planning a move a good ways away. Now, I'm not sure what to do. I consulted two of my dearest friends. They gave me the same advice yet different. Lots to think about. And not only that, I'm already thinking about Christmas. Thinking about plans for entertainment. Oh, man... Lots to think about.
