Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

What does that mean then? I was told it was a Swedish proverb.

med tanke på omständigheterna så är min farmors älg överlägsen din ostmacka

"Given the current circumstances, my grandmother's moose is far superior your cheese sandwich."

Where did you find such things?

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

Hahaha I laughed very hard in real life at the cheese sandwich.

And yeah, I started listening to the Caramelldansen song a lot since a year and a half ago. Maybe more, I dunno when the first time was when I saw the flash of Mii and Mai doing the now famous Caramelldansen dance.

It obviously shows a touch of a genious, i'm the proud author - please quote me whenever you happen to use it :)

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

Oh, so it's Jell-O that provides you with funny stuff? I always thought you were random-googling on swedish pages and cut/pasting words together. BUSTED! :alright:

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

Using online translators to go in between different languages and back to the original is always incredible amounts of fun.

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

Especially back and forth between english and some asian language (korean, japanese etc) is great fun because of the wonderful expressions. :cloud9:
Always fun when you wanna kill some time.
It's always best when you get some word sneaking in there that's totally out of context and not supposed to be there at all.

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

I guess I should clarify my above post regarding that vague warning I gave the other day.

It was not directed at anyone but rather the whole lot that are both here and there. Simply put I am not concerned nor do I really care who says what and why about whoever. I could not care less about what is said by a small group of people outside this forum set, nor do I care how you act outside of here.

The warning stands as this: If you (and by "you" I mean anyone there and here still) chooses to act the same way here that you do there.... then be prepared the accept the punishment for it.

Also for the record, the ban of SD when it happened was not done by me, nor did it involve me. As to the other ban, whats done is done. Bye now.

Questions or comments or just want to talk?? Just send a PM

Nothing beats starting with a sentence like "We are out of fish, someone buy a tuna" and end up with something with words like 'gracious', 'humble', and 'forgiveness'.

I remember once I started off with a sentence like, "the dog ran across the room" and I ended up with the word "table" sneaking in there. I think there was a boat or something too...

Another game I like to play is start off on a random Wikipedia page, think of a random page, and see if you can get to the page you chose by just clicking on the links in the article.

Re: Red Alert! (Spring/Summer OT Thread)

If you are really bored, take any random sentence. Then rewrite that sentence using the definition each word. Continue till your eyes bleed.

Bored? Do what I'm doing and try to improve your cubing time by watching videos online and learning new algorithms for given situations.
I've done quite a bit of improving over the past couple of days, but my store bought cube is slowing me down and locking up way too much.

Rubik's cube? I read today about a 7-year old danish kid that solved a 7*7*7 cube on inofficial world record time. Took the kid 5 hours.
As for myself, I'd rather stick to your wikipedia-game when bored. Never solved a 3*3*3 cube, never tried, probably never will.
