That's exactly the kind of mindset you have to throw away. I mean just think about it, if your work tries to put you in with IT, even on librarian type of things, it'll give you a chance through work to spend more time learning it. And you'll have (hopefully) awesome people to assist you. That alone makes it so you have a far better chance of learning this stuff too. Also don't be upset if you can't do a lot of the things Word or Excel is capable of, I can't even do it without googling. And then some of the most advanced stuff just leaves me scratching my head... mostly because I can't be arsed reading up on something I or anyone else ever use. >_> But still if what you fear comes to pass, try your best to go at it with a positive mindset, and a willingness to learn, it makes such a huge difference. i'm often in the same situation as your friend, where i find something to be reallyt simple, but other may not. i've always caught myself saying " just google it" but it's because saying that seems like such an easy trhing for me. Anyhow like you say it's nice to have someone who teaches you which button to press when. but that is kind of limited imo, as you may learn hwen to press run or save with 1 prorgam, but not with another one. a better way (imo) is to learn what the difference between clicking run or save is, and which benefits each has over the other. that will help you to make a deicision on not only 1 program, but most other programs as well when it comes to that question.
With that mindset, there woudlnt't exist any acronums!
